  1. Assistant salary pool bumped up 750k from what it would have been under Scott this year, now at 4.5 million. So if you don't like the assistant hires at least the reasoning isn't we are cheaping out.
  2. Salary, contract details for new USF football coach Alex Golesh The Bulls’ new coach would receive a raise of at least $1 million if the Bulls join a Power Five conference.
  3. Redevelopment plans are underway for Fowler Avenue Redevelopment plans are underway for Fowler Avenue, and you can be part of planning the future look of the area.
  4. Yeah based on Miami fan reactions I don’t see how they let him go
  5. Is there a date for the grand opening ceremony? Sometime next month?
  6. Looks like from 2011 -> 2021 he was moving up the ladder at least. Coordinators having success and getting big raises to move elsewhere isn't uncommon
  7. Added 100 subscriptions in the past week. We could be up a couple thousand a month in NIL money just the last week
  8. Wow Tennessee's director of football ops for the last 3 years. According to this one of the best in the business at this too. Way better than the last guy hiring his dad as chief of staff https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-highly-regarded-andrew-warsaw-to-leave-vols-for-alex-goleshs-usf-staff
  9. Courides has been Iowa States associate S&C guy for the last 6 years, think that would be a great hire. They've reached the polls 5 of those years and their strength has seemed to be toughness related things like run game and defense
  10. Glenn Spencer and Shoop both had success before coming to USF both had bottom 10 defenses with different schemes here. Holding out hope that poor situational football along with Scott's recruiting and development led to the defenses being so bad and a fresh start with a whole new staff should be good enough to show some improvement even with the same players.
  11. saw a stat that 47% of P5 transfers end up transferring down a level. With a record setting portal Golesh has an opportunity to reload
  12. This is what makes me optimistic for next year. I think we had enough talent on the roster to go bowling. Scott was just in way over his head
  13. https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-goleshs-south-florida-staff-finds-two-key-offensive-assistants-vols Golesh bringing a Tennessee analyst as a Tight Ends coach. Analysts as position coaches remind me a lot of Jeff Scott. Guess I'll have to give Golesh the benefit of the doubt and not assume he needs to do the opposite of whatever Scott did.
  14. Wonder what this means for a few things: -Is it still going to be a 300-350 million dollar project or are they dropping the price to get it done quicker -Is 2026 still the target date and they want to be sure they are just starting it sooner so it'll still be ready then in case of delays? Is 2026 still the target date and the scope of the project has increased? Are they moving the target date up to 2025?
  15. Just saw Golesh mention in this radio interview he got it in writing that the stadium was breaking ground in the next 365 days? If true they must be working HARD behind the scenes
  16. yup, if the school was to pay players directly they would become employees and that would open up a huge can of worms with title 9 and what not
  17. yup, and he already grabbed Kent State's HC as his OC and a Bama assistant as his DC. Maybe he's bringing his guys along as off the field support staff while still giving them pay raises? Odd he'd mention that though. I think everyone would have understood him going to the P5 anyway without that excuse
  18. https://969thegame.iheart.com/featured/open-mike/content/2022-12-08-new-usf-head-coach-alex-golesh-well-play-ucf-anytime-anywhere/ haven't listened yet but Golesh sounds like he embraces the rivalry
  19. Mike Alstott and Mike Williams (1st round NFL receiver for the Lions out of Plant) both stepped down from their respective local high school head coaching positions today. Not sure if related but interesting to monitor.
  20. they got USF at 48,000 and UCF at 48,100. Safe to say thats within their margin for error. They use payscale which is just voluntarily submitted data lol The academic differences of USF and UCF are nothing to an employer anyway
  21. I was skeptical until I heard he was promoted from GA to assistant oline coach at Tennessee. Being made an on field coach in the SEC within 5 years after playing is pretty impressive
