  1. 1 thing I found interesting looking into him. Golesh was a TE coach and recruiting coordinator for Toledo from 09-11 then Matt Campbell took over and didn't retain him on staff. When Campbell got a new job at Iowa State, he went and grabbed Golesh as TE coach and recruiting coordinator. He had never coached with him, but must have heard glowing reviews from the players if he went out and grabbed him for his next staff.
  2. Jeff Scott had a dad who was assistant head coach at Clemson when he joined their staff. Then never had any experience working under any coach other than Dabo. Clemson never missed a bowl game while he was there. Scott likely got into the profession due to a little nepotism and never had to deal with real adversity so when he got hit by it here he was totally unprepared. Golesh is the son of immigrants who had to be a graduate assistant for 5 years before getting a chance to be a position coach. He then coached at 5 different schools and was recruiting coordinator at 3 different schools in 3 different conferences. Golesh certainly has the real world experience to give me more confidence in handling the tough situations than Scott.
  3. Almost every team is having a mass portal exodus. Will be a lot of options to replenish talent in the portal that isn’t coming from a 1-11 G5 team
  4. Our problem did seem to be talent on that side of the ball more so than scheme. Could see valuing recruiting in a DC being a thing for a guy that watched tape on our team
  5. FAU's defense was 66th in points allowed. 86th in SP+. where is 107th coming from?
  6. Sounded like that was the original plan but Jim Leohnard didn't want to share that role
  7. Will Turner said he's hearing traction on Mike Tressel, that would be a home run and fit the "best DC in the country" comment
  8. Would like Patrick as a D line coach, idk about a DC. Golesh did refer to the hire as "the best DC in the nation". If it ends up being a first time DC it'll feel like we we're getting smoke blown up our ass. Don't think he makes that comment unless the DC has successful coordinator experience
  9. Dont mind getting Jean Mary as the DC. Assistants are important though for development, glad Golesh has been around and has a network of guys to reach out to. Scott hired a graduate assistant at Clemson as DL coach and *shocker shocker* we ended up not having any development at that position in his tenure. I want real coaches, not former big name players trying to get their first chance coaching
  10. Iowa State got 12 Florida guys when he was their recruiting coordinator. Just because you haven't heard of him doesn't mean he has no connections to Florida high schools
  11. If anyone listens to this Tuesday night would love to see the info posted here
  12. If Auburn ***** up with Cadillac I’d love to see him here. Would absolutely kill it recruiting the tampa area
  13. He was a leader for the Cincy job. Was the playcaller for the #1 offense in yards and points this year
  14. Great to hear, always hated Scott skipping his first month here
  15. Getting Mike McDaniel at Miami vibes out of Golesh. seems to be a wonder kid with attention to detail, scheme, etc. let’s give him a chance. It’s a harder sell to the fan base than prime and Chadwell, but I think could be the most immediate turn around. If anybody knows how to use the talent he has its Golesh
  16. **** yeah. Elite playcaller is nice. Work ethic and attention to detail is required
  17. This feels more like the UCF hire of Scott Frost than if we hired Scott Frost. Energetic 40 year old playcaller coming from the best offense in the country looking to make a name for himself
  18. Was thinking about it and getting outbid isn’t the worst thing. Chadwell and Deion are both good hires, for $3 million a year. but for $5 million a year as a G5 program that’s a huge risk. What if they won 4 games in year 3 and their buyout is 15+ million?
  19. At this point if we actually had raised booster money for Deion why not make that same offer to Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops? they are way more of sure things than Prime anyway.
  20. Seriously, can someone give me an argument for why Manny Diaz would be a better HEAD COACH than Dan Mullen?
  21. Deion wins a natty on the west coast and they’ll forget who he is in 30 years. Deion wins a natty in tampa and they’d rename streets after him.
  22. His sons mentor is Tom brady, could get a lot more face to face action in tampa…
