  1. seriously, i've graduated in the last decade and I can confirm nobody has followed up to find out what my salary is. No numbers on that can be more than someones guess
  2. I've heard the strength and conditioning coach is the 2nd most important coach on a team. Good riddance. Hopefully we're not consistently injured and undersized under the next guy. Bama had the same S&C coach from 07-19, then Georgia poached him and has lost 3 games in 3 years since.
  3. keeping Trickett/Da Prato and replacing everyone else I'm fine with.
  4. Willie Taggart left his alma mater for USF. And would talk about being a FSU fan even though he played at WKU. This guy grew up in Pennsylvania, I doubt he'd let his few years at UCF stop him from advancing his career
  5. oh wow thats more than i expected. good on them, feel more comfortable giving more to this now
  6. players/coaches play against teams they are a fan of all the time. This isn't uncommon at all. One of Texas's greatest coaches (the guy they named their stadium after) played for Oklahoma. Bo Schembechler was born in raised in Ohio, played in Ohio, got a degree from Ohio State. Then went on to be one of Michigan's greatest coaches.
  7. Can the players sell stuff for their own profit with this? Get merch, have players autograph it, sell it marked up, then the players get the difference. Then the players get our $$$ and the fans get something out of it too.
  8. Alstott stepping down after 11 years a few days after the local coach is announced. RB coach? Strength coach?
  9. If he's good enough to go from player to on field coach in the SEC in less than 5 years he must be driven. Little more optimistic than when it was first announced
  10. Seems like Da Prato has been retained if he's tweeting like this
  11. On the UCF rivals board they have a thread on Timmy McClain. They are claiming USF boosters paid Gerry Bohanon 350k to come to USF and thats why there was no competition lmao. If we had 350k to throw on 1 player type NIL money I think we'd have let that leak to some reporters
  12. No Timeframe? Wrong. Its been re-iterated multiple times this year that the timeline has moved up from 2027 to 2026. No funding? Wrong. 10 million has already been pledged No plans? Wrong. Design firm picked and BOT meeting to approve the contract will be within the month
  13. any word on how many monthly subscriptions they have at this point? Good to hear they bought out the UCF side of things so its completely independent now.
  14. Anyone have a chance to listen last night and get an idea of how much $$$ we have specifically for NIL? Glad to here Golesh will have more support there than Scott at least
  15. little nervous hiring a grad assistant from his previous school as an oline coach. I didn't think coach Mo was that bad, we only let up 14 sacks all last year. Only reason to be more optimistic on this guy over Bowers (also a former player grad assistant we gave his first coaching job) is he wasn't a physical freak. Sometimes if a guy was too great of a player it can be hard for them to teach guys without that baseline athletic ability
  16. Curious to see if in the portal era you can convince a blue chip to come to you for a year. "You can come to beautiful Tampa and start against lesser competition for a year to get your feet wet with college football instead of redshirting somewhere for a year. Then transfer to the highest bidder if you so please"
  17. found this in comparison. After Scott was introduced he spent a few days talking to donors and business then went back to Clemson to prep for the playoffs. Jeff Scott’s First Week At USF: To Croot Or Not To Croot? Right now the new USF football coach has more pressing needs than trying to keep a few recruits on board until February.
  18. When we hired Scott he didn't have a defensive coordinator until December 22nd and didn't have an offensive coordinator until December 23rd. The sense of urgency under Golesh to already have so many offers going out and guys being hired within 48 hours of him being announced is nice to see.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwAnnBjXA8E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HddsUSRmRwc Wow you weren't kidding, found these videos of him Mic'd up at Tennessee and UCF. He is always so focused on the small things and getting the most out of each rep. Big change from Jeff Scott, felt like watching him mic'd up it was more motivational.
  20. Tidbits from the daily stampede reviewing the hire: USF interviewed defensive coordinators to get an idea on Golesh's offense. They we're saying there is nothing extra time can do to prepare for that offense. It spreads the defense so wide there were only 5 different plays they were able to call to defend it, otherwise it was a broken coverage. This also is an issue with scrambling QB's and fast RB's as it forces the defense to leave open a ton of space around the pocket. Sounds perfect for Gerry/Byrum and Battie They also we're talking about Jeff Scott hiring a bunch of guys to his staff with no on field coaching experience before (Bowers specifically). And how that could have been something that doomed him, as your position coaches are typically who are most responsible for developing players. So Golesh hiring 2 really experienced guys on the defensive staff raises the floor quite a bit.
  21. 305 pound dline man from Lutz looking to transfer back home from Vtech after 1 year.
  22. Was dline coach at USF when we had Selvie, Terrell McClain, and JPP. Should see some actual development at the position unlike the past 3 years. Great recruiter too. Was a top 25 national recruiter at USF one year
  23. The Todd Orlando hire reminds me of Shoop a little bit. Lots of DC experience, some good some bad. But realistically about as good as you can get for a G5 team coming off some terrible DC seasons. The USF DC job is probably looked at as career suicide right now. Getting a guy with 17 years of DC seasons and most have been good isn't a failure
