  1. To be fair to Michael he was 220 pounds as a freshman in high school and used that redshirt year to get up to 250. Putting on weight that fast ain't gonna be the cleanest.
  2. Comment from Auggie that caught my eye: Could definitely get that vibe from Strong/Scott. Felt like they had enough experience at huge schools, they thought it was going to be turnkey to get a G5 school in a recruiting hotbed to compete. Then when it didn't work it was already too late
  3. I'm pretty sure this is it. We just saw the IPF finish later than expected, they probably want to give a buffer so the stadium doesn't finish midseason 2026 and the opener is a random game in November.
  4. Love to see a performance like that when we get a great crowd. Hopefully the students had a blast and we can start filling up the Sun Dome more consistently
  5. We already have that pedestrian bridge attaching campus to MOSI. Decorating it like this when we have the OCS would be so cool for branding in the area. Especially if/when MOSI is torn down and replaced with some spots to pregame a USF game. Looks like to get from the Yuengling brewery to that bridge would be about a mile though
  6. Also curious to see random players we have breakout that Scott just overlooked. I'm still convinced that if Mangham and Joiner never get hurt Battie is still RB3 last year and finishes the year with like 75 carries. Idk if it was playing favorites, trying to keep promises, or just incompetence but it seems like Scott wasn't always putting the best guys on the field.
  7. K'Wan Powell is gonna breakout this year. Came in that Jimmy/Timmy class with offers from LSU and FSU. Cracked the 2 deep in fall camp as a true freshman before hurting his knee and missing the entire season. Ended up being our RB3 this year in terms of yards and averaged over 5 yards per carry. In high school he had over 3700 yards on over 10 yards per carry. Can't wait to see what he does with more opportunity this year.
  8. Started today at 9:30, anyone there?
  9. It may have been a rendering just to showcase a couple details of the stadium, but there are still more details to hash out. And until they have the whole thing planned and an entire tour worth of renderings we won't see anything
  10. Tom Herman's players on the roster we're telling recruits not to come there at Texas. That is a huge red flag. These kids are transferring because they are good enough to get exposure at a program that will be all over ESPN this year and they want to up their stock to make this sport a career.
  11. According to this we have the 2nd best roster in the G5 (after UCF/Houston/Cincy leave) based on the recruiting rank of the players on the roster. Its not like we sucked because we recruited worse than the rest of the conference. The talent is there on paper to immediately be one of the better teams in our conference if the coaching is good. This is why I'm optimistic for a quick turnaround
  12. Bigger conference doesn't mean more financial stability if you aren't ready for it https://dailytargum.com/article/2021/09/new-report-shows-rutgers-athletics-has-more-than-usd265-million-in
  13. Successful is not the same as acceptable. Success would be: 1.) Football team makes a bowl game 2.) On campus stadium breaks ground 3.) Basketball team finishes above .500 4.) WBB makes sweet 16
  14. the timeline fits for when we we're told the contract would be getting approved. But the action item just being "Naming Resolution" makes me think its something else
  15. 15 minute Board of Trustees meeting was just added for next Wednesday at 3 PM. Weatherford had mentioned just after new years is when the board would approve the design firm contract so good chance this is stadium related
  16. feels like we've been hearing "should be soon" on the renderings for a year now. at this point just don't release them and break ground, imagine how glued to the live webcam people will be when they have no idea what the finished product will be lol
  17. The investments like this bring along the success. KJ Sails mentioned top tampa talent won’t be committing to USF until they have an OCS He’s a tampa guy who went P5 and transferred home, that means a lot coming from him Notice how Golesh keeps mentioning the OCS and IPF in interviews? It makes it way easier to recruit and makes this a better job. We can win big in Ray Jay, but an OCS raises the floor of the program significantly passed being memed as the team with empty red seats
  18. Q&A: New USF coach Alex Golesh wants to bring Tennessee's 'cool changeup' to Bulls Golesh talked to The Athletic about the Bulls, Vols and where things are going for both as he makes the transition to head coach at USF. Paywall, but thought this part was interesting on "Why USF": really curious for details of this to roll out
  19. He had agreed to come after Georgia Southern's bowl game (Today), but Auburn swooped in before that happened
  20. Marcus Davis was so close to being WR coach he was at our signing day ceremony, just got hired to the same position at Auburn. Bet if he was announced here people would have been complaining about his resume lol
  21. linebackers were good here but Grier and Boyles we're already solid starters when Ernie came. Like the OL coach he was gifted a good situation here and never had to prove himself as a developer through turnover. Not as sad as others to see him go. Grier had 60 tackles and 4 sacks his first full season as a starter before he came here. Boyles had 75 tackles and 3 sacks his first full season as a starter the year before Ernie came
  22. Was the shift to just save some energy for the offense? Felt like the games are way higher scoring in this stretch
  23. He was a P5 OC last year and a TE coach in the Big 10 for the 3 years before that. For a 1-11 G5 TE coach I'd call it a slam dunk
