  1. Coach AAR was an assistant at Georgia under him so they have some type of relationship. If Crean is a local it wouldn't be that crazy for him to come check out the team at some point and give his old assistant some pointers
  2. I think he was Jeff Scott's highest rated recruit. I could have seen him promised a certain amount of playing time to get him to commit. New head coach, coordinator, and position coach come in and now when spring practice is almost over he transfers out? That makes me think he realized he didn't like how the depth chart was shaking out
  3. doesn't seem like the biggest prospect, normally would have me nervous but he seems to have a great frame and mobility for a 17 year old 7 footer. Should have a high floor of at least a defensive contributor
  4. Spring game being streamed on ESPN+ and broadcasted on 102.5 Refreshing to have a coach that isn't so unconfident in his team he resorts to stupid **** like hiding the spring game
  5. The April 19th board meeting has recently had "Special BOT Meeting" added to the description. I think that usually means some type of contract is being approved. No clue if its OCS related
  6. Sounds like someone told Golesh to speak more like a politician
  7. Dok definitely has the potential to be more of a modern rim-running big that can shoot 3's on offense and rim protect on defense. In 80 minutes Dok had 5 blocks, in 941 minutes Russ had 8 blocks. There's a reason he had offers from Oregon State and LSU. Lets see if a different coach can tap his potential a little better.
  8. At USF he has 20 total blocks across 1927 minutes. That is beyond pathetic for a 7 footer
  9. Might be right. Looks like Kennesaw State's biggest guy to get over 10 MPG last year was 6'8 264. Coach might be trying to build a team that can run and push the pace. The 16 seed that beat Purdue and 7'4 Edey had nobody touch the court over 6'6. Going small and fast can work.
  10. I think that would be a red flag, trying to power play the boss before the first game. If I had to guess SOMETHING related is happening this summer: Softball fields at that current site being demolished, other prep work done. Technically "breaking ground" Above + breaking ground on the attached football facility while they finish up the designs for the stadium Golesh wasn't wrong, but this is such a big deal and a long time coming USF wants to make the announcement in a more formal way
  11. the daily stampede guys hinting that Rahim is cleaning house
  12. I'd argue a coach bringing his own guys is different than Gregory going to get guys he never coached before, in regards to them being a level below. In 2021 Western Kentucky football hired an OC from Houston Baptist (FCS). That coach brought along his QB Bailey Zappe and a receiver Jerreth Sterns. In year 1 their offense went from 19 PPG to 44 PPG. The QB threw for 6000 yards and 62 TD's. The receiver had 1900 receiving yards and 17 TD's. Sometimes a trust with the coach and a familiarity with his system outweighs the fact that the player was originally recruited to a lower level.
  13. Here’s how intense USF football’s attention to detail is under Golesh Ever thought about how a center should receive the ball before he snaps it? The Bulls have. ******* love this. Its been clear since we hired him that Golesh is obsessed with attention to detail, Idk how big of a deal this example is specifically but obsessing over the small things goes a long way in this game. Really get Mike McDaniel/Sean McVay vibes from him
  14. Youngblood/Stroud/Jennings I believe all have 2 years of eligibility because the covid year. I think its fair to expect Year 1: above .500 record, qualify for some postseason tourney. Even the CBI Year 2: be competitive every game. just being on the bubble for selection Sunday would feel like a huge success after this last decade
  15. If things are moving this quick you'd think we might be finding out what it looks like this summer too
  16. Youngblood was 1st team all conference and the leading scorer and Stroud was the conference's defensive player of the year. The 2 best players on a conference championship team that was tied with #3 seed Xavier with 1 minute to go could find roster spots on one of the ~70 P5 teams.
  17. At what point is it cheaper for us to pony up to keep a good coach once we get one? How much did Oregon out-bid us by for Taggart? 1.5 million per year? That's not much when you consider we've had to pay millions in buyout money on failed replacements since. And have lost all sorts of revenue because the team fell into the ****** with failed hires.
  18. Trey Moss entered the portal. Jake Boggs, Keyshawn Bryant, Mark Calleja, Jamir Chaplin, Tyler Harris and Serrel Smith Jr. all participated in senior night so don't expect any of them back
  19. Good sign. These guys could play at P5 schools, they must love their coach
  20. Has averaged 6+ PPG on 38% from 3 the past two seasons. Assuming we get all 3 we will be getting Kennesaw State's 3 best returning players in terms of minutes played and PPG last season.
  21. Wow didn't realize Stroud was the Asun defensive player of the year. Getting the 2 best players on a tourney team should help immediately
  22. Youngblood officially in the portal along with Brandon Stroud (9 Points, 6.5 board per game. 35% from 3)
  23. Top assistant for him and current Kennesaw State interim coach Ben Fletcher has followed USF on twitter. Should make it easier to recruit the players from their roster if we get the coach and top assistant. I think his goal there and for us seems to be recruit locally. He has the Georgia connections and Fletcher has deep ties to Alabama. I'd be betting the next assistant is someone with connections in Florida. Also their star player Chris Youngblood's dad has now followed USF basketball on twitter. Would be a big add, dude can light it up from 3.
