  1. I think they'll take any attention they can get, and of course they weren't aiming for attention specifically from TBP, but they are getting it regardless. The article about Frost may have gotten this thread started, but many of the comments are talking about the legitimacy of their claim. However you want to look at it, us, and many others outside this blog, are talking about UCF (not just Frost). Most find it silly, but some of the comments on the ESPN page are using UCF's 2017 season as an argument for expanding the playoffs. Either way, this has brought attention to their program, and I don't see how this hurts them in any way.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. A publicity stunt on their part to gain attention, and to get people talking about them...and here we are WAY after the fact doing just that. Chalk this up as another win for them.
  3. I would consider this the best as well. Seemed that marked our arrival as a big-time program (at the time, anyway) more than any other single play. The Hester TD was probably second...
  4. Maybe not among the best plays, but worth mentioning: Two QF plays in the 2016 Memphis game, both on the final scoring drive. One, where he got off a pass to Adams on 3rd & 8 while in the process of being tackled, and then then last TD run, where he first ran into Mack in the backfield. We were still in the race for a conference title game at that point, and those plays were huge. McCants dragging the UCF defender was another. The blunders that stick out in my mind would be the occasions where Holtz let the clock run down....inside the 5 yards line with Time-outs to spare....and settled for FGs. Mat Floyd continuously fumbling snaps would be another...
  5. Probably not, but it would have been nice if that could have been proven on the field.....
  6. Long way to go, but it sounds like Chris O. definitely had the better day. Also, no mention of Cronkite in this article. Did he even participate?
  7. Thanks for the video. The first pick hit McCants in the hands, just unable to make the catch. Second one was right between the numbers on Hoggins. Not sure what Kean was looking at there.
  8. I'm hoping for the exact same thing. 'Course, I've seen very little of Kean, and almost nothing of Chris O. Kean has shown flashes of being a good accurate passer in the little I've seen of him. Hopefully neither of them are mistake-prone. Q wasn't the World's greatest passer, but he did do a good job of protecting the ball...
  9. Well, that settles it then.... Looks like we're behind Memphis, UCF, and Houston. This is probably based on the assumption that there will be a huge drop-off at QB. Not so sure that will be the case, but we'll see.
  10. Based on the practices so far, is there really any reason to believe this will be a three or four player race?
  11. First thing that comes to mind regarding Dillon is the OT touchdown vs. South Carolina in the Birmingham Bowl. Best of luck to him wherever he winds up.
  12. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22213241/vince-mcmahon-gimmick-free-xfl-return-2020 He thinks streaming services will give it a better chance this time around. Odds are definitely against it doing well, but who knows...
  13. Read that McMahon will be the owner of every team. One of his ideas was this: "Maybe in a certain city having the old college quarterback would make sense, but only if he's the best option," McMahon said. This, of course, could mean Q leading a potential Tampa franchise. I do like that they will be taking a gimmick-free approach this time around. Orlando is interested in a franchise as well. Kind of curious to hear some opinions on this....
  14. I was actually going to mention the exact same thing. Was there with my Nephew, and we decided to leave in the third quarter. Listened to the rest on the radio driving home. Was about as bad as the worst of the Holtz era. Pretty amazing turnaround by CWT.
  15. Yes, long pass to Ryshene Bronson early on I believe, then not much after that. I think that might have been our first good look at Flowers in the 4th quarter of that game. Offense and Defense looked anemic that day. We'v certainly come a long way.
  16. Last time we played them, it was over by halftime in what was probably the team's weakest performance of the Taggart era. A whopping 5 completions for us in that game. Hopefully we can reverse that.
  17. Houston was ranked #6 early in the year after beating Oklahoma. They absolutely were in position to get in with Louisville still to come at that point.
