  1. As far as most exciting, the TD pass to Salomon ranks up there with any in USF history IMO, probably along side Ben Moffitt's TD against WVU.
  2. Strong's inability to get the penalties or Special Teams issues corrected were his biggest failures this year IMO. Both contributed to yesterday's outcome.
  3. So you didn't have that Luke Fickell expression even for just a second or two?
  4. Totally agree. No way we could match that atmosphere at RayJay. UCF managed to get that built after we were invited to the Big East, and they were left behind. FAU has managed to build an OCS, and have an IPF underway, and they are a younger program. That game yesterday had a really big time look to it, and the setting had a lot to do with it. As far as the AAC showcase aspect of yesterday's game, I'm sure that Aresco, and anyone else with a vested interest was glad the game was in Orlando.
  5. The blowout of Memphis is obviously their most impressive win. Decent wins at Navy, at SMU, and the win over us. They blew out an ok Temple team on the road. Their schedule isn't bad, but now that I've taken a closer look, it's not as good as I thought it was. A lot of blowouts though.
  6. We've had countless kicks and punts nearly blocked throughout the season as well. Can't recall ever seeing a line as consistently porous as ours this season.
  7. Agreed. He's always contributed one way or another, often as a blocker. Was great to see him in the spotlight today. Just a great game by him.
  8. On the first TD, the defender grabbed McCants" jersey and fell the the ground at the 15 yard line. McCants dragged his *** 15 yards into the end zone. Crazy. His size makes him kind of unique for a WR. I would imagine his yards after contact rank pretty high among WRs.
  9. Based on what? We still lead the series with them, but they do have 4 conference chamionships under their belts, with a possible fifth one coming up against Memphis. They have a BCS title (Fiesta Bowl). They have been ahead of us as far as facilities go (OCS, IPF). That game looked big time tonight, probably in part because it was played at their stadium. Wouldn't have been the same if it were held at the RayJay. Outside of the head to head matchup, where do you see us being a superior program to them?
  10. It's hard to believe Mckenzie Milton puts up the numbers he does. His throwing motion looks about the same as Napoeon Dynamite's Uncle Rico
  11. Hopefully there is a thread made where people can vote, and come up with an approval rating for Strong, just for curiosity's sake. Personally, I haven't been real high on him, but I don't think he's nearly as bad as some on here think, and I my opinion of how him (and Gilbert) called this game is probably a little more good than bad. I thought we might have let up on the gas a tad when we took the lead, but other than that, I thought they called a pretty good game. UCF just but one or two more plays than us. His failing to get control over the penalties, and straighten out the Special Teams issues are probably his biggest failures this year.
  12. Agreed. This had to catch the attention of the Big12, and the rest of the College Football World, for that matter. Somehow I don't see next year's War on I4 matchup being as big, but who knows...
  13. This UCF team helps to validate the argument for an expended playoff. They deserve the opportunity.
  14. I was feeling like Flowers wasn't going to be denied on that last drive. Sucks for Wilcox, but clearly he has a lot of talent. Hopefully he redeems himself and then some next year.
  15. Just brutal. I don't even know who our Special Teams coach is, but his unit has performed as well as Raymond Woodie's unit did in 2016. It finally cost us a game.
  16. Same issues that plagued us throughout the year showed up again tonight. Over 100 penalty yards, the body slam by McGee early in the game when we could have forced the FG comes to mind as one of the bigger ones. Special Teams mishaps bit us in the behind once again. Mitchell failing to control the ball is something we've seen before as well. Amazing that we couldn't iron these things out. On the bright side, this was one of the most exciting games I can ever remember watching. A great showcase game for the AAC, and the package deal of us and UFC going to a P5 has to be a little easier to sell after this game. QF was spectacular. Couldn't possibly ask much more from him. Loved seeing Tyre McCants come up big on the big stage, as he's been one of my favorite players over the last couple years. Sucks that QF will have to end his career playing FAU. One subject that I've stayed out of on this board up until now is the OCS thing. This is something that has to happen sooner rather than later, if at all possible. The game tonight is what college football should look like. What we have going on at the RayJay for our home games is embarrassing in comparison. Even FAU has a better atmosphere for home games.
  17. You'r right about the schedule, but the Memphis win stands out. This game will pretty much define our season, at least in my opinion. Memphis and a possible NY6 bowl, or FIU?
  18. DJ will present the Mayor of Orlando with the key to his own city.
  19. Will be interesting to see how he responds to the occasion. It's probably the biggest game of his career, against one of the better teams he's faced, on the road. Would love to see him end his career here on a high note, and pull out the next three (hopefully) games. He's coming off an 11-28 142 performance. I really have no idea what to expect from him on Friday.
  20. The talent is there, no doubt. I have my doubts that we will be able to run it down their throats consistently, like Sterlin likes to do. Flowers arm might be crucial in this one, which makes me nervous. We've seen him really good throwing the ball, and really bad as well. Killins worries me.
  21. We have one halfway decent team on our schedule, and we have one loss. And some close calls against Tulane, Tulsa, and even Stony Brook made us sweat out that win. UCF has played, and beaten better teams. They have simply been better. I would love to see us get the win, but it looks unlikely. Far lesser teams have given us trouble. Hopefully all three phases play mistake-free, and we squeak this one out. This looks like a huge step up from what we been playing.
