We wore 5 different helmets last year (white, green, gold, so flo, and patriotic). I don't know if White, So Flo and Patriotic used the same shell or not.

This year I want fewer helmets and more wins.

It's always bad to have more helmets than wins.

NFL players have a union. College players don't.

The NFL is liable for the long term damage to players.

Speaking of helmets, the NFL medical committe on neck and head injuries has recommended players NOT use different helmets in the season, specifically throwbacks. Has this come to the NCAA yet? I do think it will be a case of when, not if.

Lol. Hope you know that the throwbacks can use same helmet. Just paint over the current ones.
No, they can't. It takes too long to cure. Read some of the posts, including the one with the equipment guy. If that were the case the Bucs would've simply painted their helmets. However they need them for practice, which is midweek, and that's too soon for them to cure, takes five days. Edited by slick1ru2

Actually the thread title is misleading. In college football it's not throwbacks that is the issue, it would be alternative helmets. Only alternatives the NFL uses are throwback helmets, that's why for them it's a throwback issue. However in college, teams like USF use multiple helmets during the year. The medical experts say that increases the risk of injury. The medical experts say that increases the risk of injury because helmets need to be broken in.
