I suppose CoachOA expected Ty Outlaw was to be our last scholarship player. I presume that is no longer as certain, with all the big schools now coming after him. So, if he doesn't choose USF, Burnett would be good to have on the bench for a year practicing with the team, rather than just holding on to the scholarship, if we can land him.

Hopefully our guys aren't coming off as used car salesmen but I think with the people he knew already there, and committed, he wanted to go there and that colored his opinion on the recruiting process ...

Maybe he just didn't consider USF  "a big time school" like he does Minn, which is also in a major conference. It's not like we are UConn, Memphis or Cncy with a rich history in basketball.

I'm sorry, but there is no sane person on this planet that considers the Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball to be a big-time program.

True, but they are in a major conference, unlike USF presently, and  that by his definition, apparently, makes them a major school, even if they aren't considered a major basketball school. Considering that was the first thing out of his mouth, he must have given that a lot of weight. in his mind.

My dad's a Golden Gopher...it's a pretty good sized school, and they have a decent local fan base. I'm sure their attendance is greater than ours, if nothing else, the midwest schools are a bit more rabid for basketball.

And they are coached  by Rick Pitino, Jr., who is an up-and-comer in college coaching basketball world.

Miami transfer Deandre Burnett told @CBSSports he plans to visit Ole Miss in next two weeks. Also considering La Salle, Marquette, and USF.
