I presume that Nunez will sign with USF, since he's another Dominican from NYC.

On behalf of New Yoricans and our ilk, that was harsh. (Yes humor included)

Secondly, it appears to me that unless someone else decides to transfer, that would leave us with just one Schollie for the next recruiting class if we lock up all of our current commits including Montero at some point later. Unless of course someone else leaves.

Unless I'm mistaken, Montero is our only 2016 commit and we should have 2 more available if he signs. We'd lose Cousins, Morrillo and Nunez.

FYI, Basketball regular signing period starts on April 15th and ends May 20th.http://www.nationalletter.org/

Transfers dont have to go by those dates, though, correct?

Yes.

I just mentioned that because we can likely expect some additional commits within two weeks.

Got it .... we do only have room for one more signee this year so it may be a matter of if ya snooze, ya lose for somebody....... unless, of course, we dump more players.

I may be the one mistaken, I am unsure if his transfer would be considered a graduate transfer therefore making him immediately eligible.

My initial thought was that he would sit out this first year as a transfer.

If you're talking Nunez, he would be a one and done here as a graduate transfer, which would leave us 3 available for 2016.

If this is true, Nunez would be a great pick up for the missing Montero.

re looking fro

As I mentioned earlier, I was told that there would be three new scholarships given out [two JUCOs and a 5th year player, because we wanted more experience. We've already gotten one signed [JUCO] and Nunez would be the second [5th year Senior ?]. So, there should be at least one more available, hopefully from the same JUCO, Ty Outlaw.

If that's the case, it will be interesting to see who they dump ... unless CP's problem is career ending.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."
