1 stroke behind FSU at the end of round 1. Not bad but it looks like FSU had a strong back 9 to take the lead.

FSU and USF have separated themselves quite a bit from the rest of the field. Third place Stanford is six shots behind us.

In the three golf rankings FSU is 1/2/2. USF is 12/14/15.  We beat them heads up a couple of weeks ago. It would be great to do it again and make another major move in the rankings. Even if we end up second or third, in this strong field, we would likely move into the top ten in at least one of the rankings.

Plus, USF Rigel Fernandes is the individual leader at -7. (3 shots ahead of 2 FSU players).

Rigel 2-stroked the 453 yard 10th hole. I would like to see a video of that second shot - essentially a 200-yard hole-in-one?

Wow, this is dominant.  Also helps that the golf channel is broadcasting the NCAA championships live this year.  They are now putting college symbols next to the PGA tour player names on leaderboards.  Need a few of these guys to get to that next level.  Great promotional thing for a school.

Yep.

We have one player currently on the PGA tour.

Last week Chase Kopeka advanced from a pre qualifier for the Honda Classic Qualifier, but didn't quite putt well enough to gain entry into the field. His brother, Brooks, played the first two rounds with McIlroy and made the cut. It would have been quite a golf story if his younger brother had been playing there as well through qualifying rather than as a sponsor invite.

I'm sure that some of the current players will gain professional status, and we'll be seeing their names on the various tours.

LSU is considered the # 3/5/7 team in the country and getting flat out demolished by USF. Currently beating them by 36 strokes... They must be having an off week..

USF demolished many quality ranked teams two weeks ago. There is a thread on it I think called '#22 USF Golf', if you want to look at it. That's how they moved up so fast in the rankings. In that event, I believe USF was the ony team under par.

Yeah, I followed that one too.

USF is the team leader after two rounds at -9. Next is Stanford -8, followed by FSU -6.

Tomorrow is the final round.

Rigel Fernandes is at -7 and tied with two other players for the individual lead.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
