Correct me if I'm wrong...but doesn't the defender have to be engaged in a block before a chop block can occur or am I just drunk...these aren't chop blocks

I'm no football expert but I'm pretty sure of the 4 there have been only 1 that was close to being a chop blick

@ByJeffOdom: Yes, #USF has more chop block penalties (4) than points in its last seven quarters combined (3).

It's not really that hard a call for an official to make.  There's really no ambiguity with the chop block call.

These seem a bit like stretches for calls from what my interpretation of the rule is...granted we have much bigger problems

The refs seems to making several questionable decisions. Not that it really has anything to do with our play, but it's kinda as if they just threw in some trainees for the game. "USF and SMU, send in the interns. What harm could they do?"
