I am ok with losing, as long as we are building towards something for next year. The reason Taggart has lost me is beyond the RBs, I don't see many young guys standing out as major contributors. You lose Davis, Williams, Reiter, Eatmon, Welch, Mcfarland on the offense. That is a lot experience on the O-Line. Even if it is not a great OL, it always takes a long time to gel. The offense was pretty ineffective without Davis. Other than one long play, Bronson has shown nothing spectacular. Have any of the other Freshmen seen the field yet? None have been able beat out Welch even for playing time? We are going to expect to improve with at least 2 inexperienced WR next year? McFarland has been a decent contributor. Price still has potential to be very good next year. If we run a lot of 2 TE sets the other TE position will be inexperienced. Although I think we are OK with Price. Defense we lose Watson, Chandler, Dunkley and Cliett. Not sure if losing Dunkley huts or helps. Other than Byrd, none of the other younger DBs have truly stood out. They may be slightly improved. There may be more physically gifted younger guys to see the field next year, but they will be inexperienced. If they have not surpassed this group yet they probably are not so significantly better to be impact players right away. Or is Willie tanking this year for next year. Seems to me like the building only begins next year. I would prefer to see more contribution and standout players from the younger receivers and offensive lineman. I would rather see Bronson need to be targeted 20 times or equal # of times as Davis, because we need him to be that good, rather than senior Welch being the 3rd down, go to guy. Seems to me the real building just starts next year.

Beyond Adams and Price no one who will be here next year really gets on the field often. No clue why Welch is playing over the freshman, but that can't bode well for their abilities. Dunkley is by far the best CB on the team. None of the young guys have shown anything special at that position. The LBs, DTs and RBs have stood out for young talent. I think the line will be just fine next year and I think possibly better even. Receivers and the secondary worry me most

Or is that the next USF home game? I get the two confused, because they are both painful and embarrassing to endure.

We may finish with a better record because our schedule is weaker and the bad teams we play this year are worse than the bad teams we played last year. Statistically, any idea how those numbers compare to last year?

We had 29.6 points against per game for 2013.........same, same although we ranked 101 out of 124. Edited October 26, 2014 by hbryan
