Could USF be bidding for Rice against a school other than UNLV?  I don't think UNLV will pay Rice much more...maybe Rice is considering a 3rd school? UNLV is tight with money...they're AD is only paid about $180,000/yr...about lowest pay for any AD in US.

Just commenting on the type of offense he runs. Was hoping for a more up tempo style of play. Don't get me wrong, winning is most important but having a fast paced offense makes it more exciting from a fan perspective.

This is a good sign guys.   If the Bulls get Dave Rice and he brings that Top 10 recruiting class with him then this has the potential to be a great hire.   From what I hear his X's and O's are not the best but I would rather have a guy (Rice) pulling in top 10 recruiting classes, with only 3 years head coaching experience, that needs to work on his X's and O's, then a guy (Heath), pulling in top 75 recruiting classes, that still struggles with his X's and O's after 13 years of being a head coach.

If we're lucky, $2 million might get us that coach who took Kent State to the Elite 8 a few years ago. I hear he's unemployed.

He is probably going to give UNLV a chance to match the offer but there is zero chance that they will.  UNLV is already hurting for money badly at this point.   This guy is an average on court coach with 3 20+ win seasons in the last 3 years, that is one of the best young recruiters in the country.   Keeping coach rocc on this staff while making Rice the head coach could be a perfect combination.
