Usf is really striking out hardcore on the guys at the top of our recruiting lists...probably why we are taking so many diamonds on the rough.

I think it's early, and that much will depend on our success this season.  If players on the fence see Taggart's vision & development actually panning out, I can see the better players climbing on board.

Here's a list. Good offers, but doesn't seem to be at the top of our list. I don't get it, people are saying coach has to take players with hopes that they're diamonds in the rough now, but why? Why didn't he have to last year when we had the worst team I've ever seen and coach pulled in the 39th class. What makes this year any different and why is he supposedly striking out? I think the class will look just as good as the 2013 class he pulled in his first year here.

Here's an even better list if that's the type he's talking about, Offers . It shows who we supposedly want and how successful we've been so far getting them. Thing is, nobody knows for sure who USF is really targeting and like you said, it is way too early to be talking about striking out and settling ...

There was an article in the Palm Beach Post a few weeks ago on this, with a few coaches saying the inaccuracies on these sites are many, and he doesn't even pay attention to them.  Few really know who has real, commitables v "if things work out, yeah, we'll take ya" offers.

It seems Taggart & Co have their hands on a lot big maybes, and I think we'll get a 22-25 class this year.  Unless we're just horrible, we should recruit Top 50.  If we win, top 30-35 is possible.

The recruiting buzz has just not been the same at this point in the cycle for us this year...I understand why amd I hope that a few wins will help. Not doubting that taggart is a good evaluator of talent, but it is difficult to see the best bay area players from sickles, east bay, armwood, and wharton going elsewhere. Cmon! Where is the team Tampa dreamteam thing this year?

Bayes getting on board early helped last year, IMO.  Litton, too, funny enough.

Someone noted earlier that most of last year's early commits didn't stick (Litton, Hernandez, Stewart, others?).

I think we'll have a good sized class, but you are right in that we don't have that Dream Team buzz...and we need to spark it.

I think I read somewhere that this kid's dad played at West Virginia, so that might have been a factor in his decision
