His offer list obviously wasn't very impressive, but neither was Toarlyn Fitzpatrick's and he was a really solid contributor during his career at USF. Let's hope he is one of those diamonds in the rough.

Hopefully he works out as well as the commit who was in the same position during the last regime change.

Mercurius to Ink with USF on Thursday   1271806.jpg

USFNation.com caught up with 2014 Brandon (Fla.) Faith Baptist Christian guard, Dinero Mercurius, and he says he'll be signing with Orlando Antigua and the South Florida Bulls on Thursday afternoon.

The University of South Florida already inked shooting guard Troy Holston out of Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian High School back in November of the early signing period.

And now under the leadership of former Kentucky lead assistant coach, Orlando Antigua, Brandon (Fla.) Faith Baptist Christian guard Dinero Mercurius will be the second student athlete to sign with the Bulls.

"Tomorrow evening (I'll be signing)," Mercurius told USFNation.com on Wednesday night. "Coach Antigua and I talked about meeting around two o'clock. I would expect us and his staff checking out the campus and stuff like that. Eventually, I'll sign after that."

After the departure of Stan Heath, who was fired in his seventh year at the helm after a discouraging 12-20 season, including a league worst 3-15 record inside the American Athletic Conference, the recruiting process became difficult at times for the sharpshooter.

"(The coaching change) was definitely frustrating," Mercurius said. "But since the new coaching change, everything's been cool lately. It's been real good lately."

Between now and when he arrives on the Bulls' campus over the summer, the Sunshine State product is focusing on strengthening up his frame for the rigorous battles inside the American Athletic Conference.

"Right now, I'm 6-foot-4, 180-pounds," Mercurius said. "I'm increasing my strength so I can be physically ready."

The combo guard ripped the nets for 28 points in front of the Bulls' previous coaching staff back in November, resulting in his first in-state scholarship offer and a verbal commitment to the Bulls' program shortly after.

That be him ... but hopefully, with a postseason game on the line, he'll want to take the shot.
