Stanford is to USF what Hall Berry is to ever 45 year old 250 lb hag I work with who sips on their 44oz diet coke in their cubicle and bitches about everything. I still don't understand why people continue to make this stupid analogy. We DO NOT NEED TO BE STANFORD or try to get recruits at their level (perennial top 25 class) We DO NOT PLAY IN THE PAC-12 We DO need to play the type of power offense Coach T, Jack Harbaugh, Stanford, and the 49ers use/d. Those kids do exist, and believe it or not, they don't all just go to Stanford or Wisconsin. Some even live in FL! Wow! Why do you think Power O programs are always trying to recruit the same people we are now from FL? We play in the AAC. Taggart seems to be doing just fine recruiting players for his system as he currently has what, 23 of them for 2014? Took in another 23 in the 2013 class. And does anyone have the O Line stats for Wulff's time at Eastern Washington? Those other 8 years would be useful information if we are going to use the Wazzu stats. What matters is getting talented kids that fit your system, buy into your vision, and then develop them. Most recruiting rankings had UCF below us and way below Stanford yet they had a very solid offensive line that was capable of pounding the rock and protecting their QB....

No, WSU lead the nation in giving up sacks for pretty much 5 years, including the year after he was fired. He went through 2 line coaches in 4 seasons. WSU went through QB's like cannon fodder under Wulff. None of them were ever healthy due to terrible line play. Two recieved fractured backs in 2008 in a game against Portland State(yeah FCS team). Connor Halliday got hit so hard against Utah he suffered a lacerrated liver in 2011 and Jeff Tuel who now plays for Buffalo was never not hurt(sublexed kneecap, compartement syndrome, broken collar bone, anothe kneed injur in 2012, and Marshall Loebestahl blown out in 2008. All of these on sacks. . Edited January 7, 2014 by 9-

Can we look at the stats while he was an actual coordinator or offensive coach? We're not hiring as a head coach here.. Wulff was outclassed in the Big Sky, check his record. WSU's AD was a total clown and hired a coach on the cheap. The finalist were Wulff or Kevin Sumlin(yep that guy). It was 4 years of the most innept horendous football anyone in the PAC 8/10/12 has ever seen and this is coming from a league where Oregon state had 28 straight losing seasons. QB's going down left and right with horrific injuirs due to terrible line play. No running game and continualy beating out FCS schools for players because they could get anyone to even visit that had a BCS offer. If they did the player had so many issues they never qualifed academically, got arrested in Pullman, or tossed out of school everntually. It is no coincedence that Leach booted almost 20 players in 8 moths prior to the 2012 and by this year most of his JC transferes and freshman from his frist two recruiting classes beat out Wullfs kids and took them to a bowl game. We aren't hiring the guy as our HC, just an OL/OC* More importantly: he knows the 49ers offense (which is what we're using), Played OL in college, worked under Harbaugh, has College coaching experience. Not sure if many of you saw our offense this year, but it cannot get statistically any worse. We were DEAD LAST in TD's.
