Beat up on the Big12 Champion in a BCS bowl. If they do want that Florida footprint, I don't see any reason not to take UCF. Our 4 wins over UCF are ancient history now. Our 5k that shows up to our home games..with the faded Bucs logo on the field.. to watch us get trounced by the likes of Memphis and McNeese State won't have any marquee conference knocking at out door. Next year isn't looking all that great for us either, and we have a mostly unproven HC who we are stuck with, thanks to Skippy's undeserved extension. Funny that just a few years ago we broke off the rivalry with UCF to move on to bigger and better things.

And yes, UCF is in a prime position to jump to a P5 conference (without us). They do not need us, and we don't need them, because our problems are internal. There is a reason that realignment isn't based upon current winning seasons. Our problems need to be fixed. I'm not worried one season is going to lead to them leaving us behind.

Struggled to beat weak teams like the Bulls, Memphis, Temple, and SMU while beating good teams like Baylor, and Louisville. Give them props and bortles looked like the real deal last night. We need to worry about us, not another team's Cinderella season. Go ZBULLS !!! Exactly! Whatever UCF did in the Fiesta bowl doesn't have any affect on USF whatsoever. They won, good for them. In 2 years Bortles will be gone, O'leary may be retired and who knows what the on the field team will look like. People just don't seem to get it. Conferences don't look solely at on the field performance. Especially, not a one year, best ever performance. How UCF fans traveled to their biggest game ever and ratings for the game are more important to conference realignment. Their are a lot more factors that go into a big decision than one good year. It's all about market and ratings. Look at the teams that left the old big East. Syracuse, Pitt, West Virginia, all losers in football. Hell, look at Rutgers. The only reason the Big10 took them is because of the New York market. Everyone needs to just relax.

Pitt and Syracuse have strong programs and long histories of championship caliber programs in multiple sports. West Virginia is a pretty good example of taking a program based on a few years of success on the field. Even as well as they traveled and with their long history in football, they have struggled so far on the field and travel across the board in all sports has been taking its toll. They haven't been the same team since Pat White and Rich Rod left.

Still, they have 4 receivers that would make A Davis a distant 2nd WR at USF. And most are underclassmen. They are young, and will be good for a while.
