UCF would have sold out their tickets to the OB and maybe the Sugar.
Kahoki Posted December 17, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 102 Reputation: 6 Days Won: 0 Joined: 11/29/2012 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I know several UCF alums and a couple of students. They will not be going due to the cost. If UCF was able to get to the Orange or even the Sugar, these individuals would have gone. However, due to the costs of travel and lodging, they will be staying home. I know as soon as it was announced that UCF was going to Tempe I was telling family here that they just got screwed financially. Now some here will laugh at them and so forth, but, no team (program) should be screwed over financially by a flawed system like the BCS for completing a very good accomplishment from their season. Ohio State should have gone to Tempe and UCF to the Orange. But this shows exactly how far down the BCS caliber listing the Fiesta truly is. Yes, and UCFers would be on here slamming us for it too. It sucks for them. I couldn't make all of our bowl games, but would always buy a ticket or two to help out the cause. Hopefully the UCF faithful do the same.

OU lost money on a Fiesta Bowl appearance a few years ago. It's ridiculous that UCF has to pay between $150 and $270 for 17,500 tickets that will go for under $50 on the open market. But hey the school presidents allow it to happen. the bowl system sucks period. If I were a UCF fan I'd rather pay to travel and see them play at Baylor in a meaningful regular season game then pay to see them play in an exibition game in a half empty pro stadium in arizona. it would cost half as much and the gameday experience would be twice as good. If you can't afford tickets to your team's first and only BCS appearance you should sell an organ or a kid or two.
