I don't think it will have much affect on Flowers.  While White looked vastly better than what we've been trotting out there, he isn't Johnny Manziel.  I don't think possible QB recruits will be scared off.  Especially considering that he's playing as true freshman, so even if they do get beat out, they could still redshirt and be two classes behind him (meaning good chance to start as a junior).

they would only be one injury away from being a starter.

Bingo. We've already had Eveld and Bench go down to injuries this year.

Does this make Bench our Wally Pipp?

I think Pipp was out of the lineup strictly due to an injury ...

You don't think Eveld & Bench being hurt didn't plunge White into the starting role?

Pipp was productive for the Yankees for 10 years before a headache supposedly gave Gehrig the shot .... Not sure "productive" is a word I'd use for either Eveld or Bench's play leading up to last night.

Wonder if Yearby and Cook watched this game, and see a place for them on this squad.

If Mike White continue to play the way he did, opponents will have a difficult time stacking 8 in the box and will open up Taggart's power run game even more. More reason for them to want to commit... But I am still happy with the Jarvis Stewart commit.

Guarantee everyone watched this game. Everyone saw the kid get robbed. Everyone saw those beautiful touch passes. It was prime time ESPN. Everyone that matters was watching that game, even if ESPN didn't give it a headline on their website. Almost better that they didn't, because it would have been written by one of their resident buttlicks like McMurphy or Adelson.

I wonder how much it helps with his 2015 buddy :

Jordan Scarlett (Ft. Lauderdale University School) Class of 2015
There’s no doubt with a big junior season Scarlett could vault up this list. He looks (body wise) like Trent Richardson at the same stage. He has everything to be special but needs to put it all together and play with more consistency.

Scout has him rated as the 7th RB in the state coming out from 2012 till now.

Heres the full list (not in order)

Sony Michel 2014
Joseph Yearby 2014
Dalvin Cook 2014
Bo Scarborough 2014
Alex Collins 2013
Derrick Henry 2013
Kelvin Taylor 2013
Greg Bryant 2013
Jordan Scarlett 2015
Jacques Patrick 2015

I think the one thing that taggart has shown is that EVERYONE has a chance to start doesn't matter if you're true freshman or not. Best players are gonna be on the field

Also his running ability could get him on the field in special packages even if White is the starter

Yeah he might be in sub packages but if he is coming thinking he is starting at qb, he may be disappointed.

Why would anyone get on his thread and talk like that. It makes zero sense. It's just crazy talk

Its no different than when people were posting on the Asantii Woulard thread after he committed to UCLA that he wouldn't start. Crazy. Edited by slick1ru2

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
