This is a huge mistake. Though it sounds sexy and a great getaway in December, the passport issue will become huge for attendance. A lot of people (especially students) just don't have passports and they are not going to pay $300 to expedite one to go to a football game (if that's even possible with 2-3 weeks notice). Plus with the powers that be segregating the bowl games into "power conference" bowls and "non-power conference" bowls, it will really suck for exposure. In the past Ive visited Freeport and did not need a passport. I dont know if this has changed. If USF played there Id take a cruise ship and make a weekend of it. You play the game in the local sportsbook as well.

Id drive to Ft Lauderdale, take the Discovery three day to the Bahamas (which is usually <$100 with port fees) and get in with a passport card which is half the price of the book but still has some wait requirements. Sounds like a great charter opportunity- Those traveling by sea on an officially-designated “closed-loop cruiseâ€, meaning that the port of entry is the same port as the port of re-entry upon return to the U.S., may enter using a passport, passport card, or other Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) compliant document *Discovery stopped doing this in 2011, so unless Id be swimming across, scratch that. Plus I think the Bahemians are more into soccer, cricket and baseball than college football.
