USF has been running lots of 2 WR and a TE or two. That means the defense can fill the box and concentrate on the pass rush. Many of these kids played the spread, in Holtz's offense or in high school. Here's an example of power run, Stanford has a 240 lb full back that is a lineman with a 40s number so they don't have to check him in as an eligible receiver. He is used for blocking on run plays.
