So what did Holtz do, or not do?

This thread is not complete until slick provides the daily excuse.

You should hear from Skip's defenders, too.

Can't believe why any sane Bulls fan would defend what Skip Holtz did to this program.

Didn't lose to McNeese State?

Didn't play McNeese State while he was here.  But he did lose to Ball State, Temple, Syracuse (twice) and UConn (twice), among others.

Improved academics...

I understand that this is a university and these are student athletes.  And the grades are important.  But that is what teachers and administrators are paid to do.  Skip was paid to win football games.

I think one of the best examples of the problems with Skip's staff was when he decided to go golfing instead of recruiting at the Florida high school QB camp that was hosted on our campus.  That was a perfect opportunity to network and recruit.  Now we have no QB.  I wonder why...

That was during the dead period and no contact was allowed between him and recruits.

And the #1 DTQB in the country left with Skip rather than stay with CWT.

Sooner or later CWT will be in a game where the clock matters.

Skip did restore a lot of academic rigor into our football program.

Holtz did a crap job recruiting and his clock management was terrible.

Before Holtz Leavitt was the worst coach I had seen when it came to clock management.  I don't know the common link, but it seems to be a problem we consistently have.
