Lets give Sheridan a chance to be the QB coach before calling out to replace him.  He may be a talented coach and it's only been 2 games.

Slick just needs to make his rounds calling out all the assistant coaches and basically make them look over their shoulder for their jobs. First the DC, now the QB coach ... I'm sure the DB coach is next on the list to skewer.

Oh, also it was mentioned older programs not firing coaches after 1.5 losing seasons. I think it's more than obvious that Holtz wasn't fired just because of the losses. It was the way we lost and the obvious fact that he lost the team. It went from losing close games to a bunch of bodies going through the motions late. If we were still losing close and showing a real effort to win against Miami and Pitt last year, Holtz would probably still be here. We all know Woolard had the investment in him.

i'm thinking skip lost a bunch of support when he started blaming the humidity...

Yeah. Then again did you see last night's Texas Tech game with TCU? Thursday Night Thesis. More and more freshman QBs are ready to start coming out of high school with the types of offenses more and more run that are like college systems, along with all the advanced camps they have these days. They never said anything about talent, it was a focus on preparation and experience coming into college. So I'd expect the QBs to be playing better, but then there also is an O line problem against a pass rush that hopefully won't be seen again although I expect it will be at Miami and/or UL.

Actually when I posted about Williams, didn't give a thought to if USF had room for a coach, what the rules were on coaching, etc., it was on all the bemoaning the QB situation.

Say what you will about being fired after 1.5 seasons of losing, half the losses by a score, other programs more secure in their worth would have given him another year.

Slick the only QB we recruited that had a chance to make any sort of impact in year one went to UCLA.

Yeah, more and more QB's are playing as freshman, but we don't have one of those guys. [Note: that's my apparently uniformed opinion]

Start calling for coaching changes if we don't have one of those guys next year or Mike White and Steven Bench still are not even close to ready after a full year.
