For those at the game, how good was MSUs coverage in the secondary? Were our receivers getting open at all? From TV and those pass interference calls it looked like MSU secondary was just mauling our receivers. On TV you can't see what the QB is looking at down field. They were a few openings - cue the wide receiver drops. I'm not an Eveld fan at all but between the pressure and the drops it is hard to say what might have been. Eveld probably would've faired much better if he floated a few passes high toward the sideline for Davis and let him go up and get it. He had that nice catch for about 20 yards where he went up and got it. Why wouldn't they play tight and physical? They expected us to play very conservative and we did. Worse yet, our receivers appeared like they weren't expected the ball to be in the air a few times. That 1st dropped pass by Welch was the only time a noticed one of our guys running wide open. MSU's receivers very physical as well. They were pushing and knocking guys around all day on run plays. Same thing on special teams. Fidel Montgomery was really getting knocked around. Does that mean our pass offense could be better against a less talented unit, even with Eveld in?

There is literally NFL talent at every position group across MSU's defense. Your defense, on the other hand, should be ashamed for having given up positive yardage to the those scrubs and their idiot coordinator.

We also pretty much play exclusively tight press coverage no matter who we play (replying to another comment).

Well we ran for about 89 yards on them, so I guess that is a positive. Interestingly they ran for 171 yards which concerns me. Actually the stats are nearly identical for the teams except MSU has about 100 more total yards and 4 more first downs. The location and nature of the turnovers however were a hige factor in the final score. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/gamecast?gameId=332500127&version=mobile&teamId=58&src=desktop
