The players only complain about it because they want some of the money pie too. Players get salaries because it is an amateur sport. You know most employees sign away everything for employers as well. All ideas and patents and intellectual property belong to the company. The best thing the NCAA can do in my opinion to keep college football "amateur" is to have a spending cap on programs. Even the NFL has a spending cap to keep parity. There is no parity at the college level. This whole not licensing to NCAA is kind of silly. The universities and conferences should be able to do this and use random numbers and player skins. Maybe go the other route and make the graphics, or player avatars, a little cartoony to move away from the likeness issue and still make a great game. NCAA '14 is something that brought many fans joy and now it's gone over a lawsuit and fear of looking greedy. Can damages be accessed against EA? It seems ridiculous. Are the ones who brought this lawsuit forward glad they shut down the game? Was this their objective? I bet some even own it. Their real objective in this lawsuit is to get money after the fact they agreed to certain contract terms and now cry foul. If the hundreds of new recruits can organize themselves and refuse to sign unless the contract is changed then you will see something change.
