Also, in my mind, Shaun is the most important 3-point player we've ever had.

He made them when we needed them to go in.

Yes, but still think Chucky Atkins was our best.

I wish Chucky Atkins was added to the coaching staff.

I think we had better 3 pt shooters

Derrick Sharpe comes to mind. Reggie Kohn, despite his shooting form, Radenko Dobras. Atkins was good. One of my all time favs. I don't put Noriega jn the group above. I also think some opportunity to use him went unused.

I think Shaun was making strides defensively this past year until the injury.  He was really working hard at the defensive end.  Would never be a shut down kind of guy but the kid was working at it.  I thought for sure he'd be back with the Bulls.

Thought the same thing ... Hopefully, the ones here will be better, though.

Noriega was never consistent at anything his whole time at USF. His 3pt shooting is over rated as the stats show his just barely above acceptable from behind the arc. Despite his size, strength, and leaping ability at the SG spot, he doesn't rebound, get to the FT line, get assist, or get steals. Throughout his career Heath gave him chances to earn more minutes, but he could never duplicate what he was able to do in practice to the actual games except on very, very occasions. The only player that had the green light to shot whenever, so confidence should not have been the problem. Just don't think he was ever that good to begin with.

I do think that a low to mid major school would be the ideal situation for Noriega. Maybe follow the same path as Solomon Bozeman, who certainly played better at UALR then he did for Heath at USF. Went from averaging 5pts a game to 16pts per game at the smaller school.

Noriega did have an issue with consistency. Also agree that Chucky Atkins would make a great addition to the coaching staff.
