Pasco High coach Tom McHugh tweets (per GA retweet) that he had no idea USF was having a junior day.  Received a back-tweet from Dunellon High coach that he had no idea either and that he can't even get a call back from someone at USF.  Mentioned that UF & FSU let him know about there's.

Seems like they were concentrating on Orlando schools.

USF offers Garrett Johnson, Nico Firios as Orlando players flock to Bulls' junior day

By Chris Hays | Orlando Sentinel

5:25 a.m. EST, February 18, 2013

The new coaching staff of Willie Taggart at USF has been hitting the state hard on the recruiting trail and Central Florida is no exception.

There was a large contingent of Orlando-area players in Tampa on Sunday for
the Bulls first junior day of Taggart's new era, showing locals that he
means business when it comes to recruiting the area. Two of them even
drew scholarship offers while on the Bulls' turf.

Winter Garden West Orange wide receiver Garrett Johnson and Lyman linebacker Nico Firios both reaped the benefits of the visit.

The 5-foot-9, 162-pound Johnson earned his third offer in the past two weeks. Johnson, the No. 8 player in Sentinel's 2014 Central Florida Super60, also has Boston College and Northwestern.

"I feel good. I'm happy, excited," Johnson said. "I really didn't even
expect it today. I wasn't really in contact with them a lot, so it just
kinda happened ... but yeah, I'm excited about it."

For Firios (6-2, 220), the No. 5 ranked player in the 2014 Super60, it was his
second offer in three days. Rutgers offered him on Thursday.

"I really wasn't sure they were even going to offer me today. I talked for
Coach Taggart for about 10 minutes, and he wasn't really talking about
things like that for the first eight minutes or so, but then he said
they wanted to offer me," said Firios, who two weeks ago was wondering
when that first offer might come.

"Now I have no idea what's coming next. I'm just really happy right now and I just have to keep
workig hard and being humble and hopefully more will come."

USF capped off its 2013 haul of recruits with a pair of locals in Kissimmee Osceola players RB Stafon McCray and DB Hassan Childs and it seems to have jump-started the foray into the four-county area
surrounding Orlando (Orange, Osceola, Volusia and Seminole counties).

Fellow Osceola player Riley Nicholson, a sophomore linebacker, is one of the latest Kowboys on the Bulls'
radar and he was also in Tampa on Sunday. Fellow area sophomore Deondre Francois of Orlando Olympia was on hand, as well, but for the most part, junior day was just that ... for juniors.

Seven of the top 20 players in the Sentinel's 2014 Central Florida Super60 were represented with the Seminole County DL Adam Torres of Lake Mary, ranked No. 3 in the CF Super60, and Oviedo teammates athlete Chris Davis (No. 9) and defensive end Tyree Owens (No. 15) also in attendance.

Other top-ranked 2014 players in attendance were  Daytona Beach Mainland DB D.J. Copeland (No. 12, who already holds a USF offer, as well as offers from Louisville and West Virginia), Winter Park DE Trent Harris (No. 14, offer from Boston College) and Orlando Olympia ATH Alex Gomez (No. 17, offer from Marshall).

Torres, who already has offers from FIIU and Rutgers, was joined in Tampa by teammates and linebackers Trevor Mayberry and Jake Collier.

Also invited from Lyman were linebacker Greg Gooch (ranked No. 11) and quarterback Jared Reimel (No. 46), but they did not make the trip.

Johnson was with a group of eight Winter Garden West Orange players. Jamarcus 'Goat' Federick (No. 27), as well as team leaders and twin brothers QB Hayden Griffitts (No. 30) and TE Kyle Griffitts (No. 41) were also representing West Orange, as were OL Alban Harp and Kobie Grace and sophomores ATH Bryceden Jones and Brandon Wilson.

In several interviews, CWT has said that he doesn't care about a players "star" rating from all the sites and he's going after guys that fit his system.

Maybe Pasco and Dunellon High Schools don't have any players that CWT thinks fit his system.

Sounds like USF  hardly ever recruits Pasco from his next Tweet,

Yeah we'll they have always done a stellar job recruiting at PHS. Never
recruited Josh Johnson, Mylon Brown, Jamie Byrd, David Emmanuel

and his next,

Took a fly by with Janarion Grant though

Someone in the know....How does Jr day work?  Is there more than one?  Could it be done by area?  Lot of schools in the state to be inviting them all for one day.

Or is it a way to have kids from out of the area come in and not travel to each player?  Bring in Orlando kids, but Pasco is close enough to go visit when spring practices start?

FWIW.... CWT/USF backed off Grant as did most everyone else.... He doesn't look to have the grades and would have to go JUCO.

Saw those tweets, they were complaining about not receiving an invite to Jr. Day...if you read into the tweets you'll then see that this was an OPEN INVITATION with almost 200 Jr's attending. It was blasted out multiple times via twitter that all were welcome, with the coach who called out CWT then realizing this.
