So Jimbo's Team Beats Clemson and We won a game with like 7  weather Delay's and then do not win another meaningful game that season.

In summary We suck and Jimbo is going to win a SB.... ****

It just ain't right to not give credit for that win to Holtz.

"in spite of" makes for a much more entertaining thread than "because of" wouldn't you agree?

How can you say that he "has gone no where since", when he has done a great job coaching his linebackers and has contributed to a team going to the SB?

How many NFL linebacker coaches have needed 30 years experience to get their job?

How many CEOs (BCS Head Football Coach) would consider taking a supervisor's job (NFL Position Coach) going somewhere?

A BCS head football coach didn't take the San Fran job.  A recently unemployed coach took the San Fran job.  So from being unemployed to coaching on a team in the Superbowl, I'd call going forward in your career.  It's only a matter of time at this point before Leavitt either takes another college head coaching position or moves up the ranks in the NFL.

he certainly walked into a very nice situation with the San Francisco LB corps and he'll soon be rewarded for it.

So, you would consider a recently unemployed Bank CEO who took a head teller's job in a major international bank to be going "forward in his career"???

Dude, a head teller vs. a linebackers coach on an NFL team?

Apple, have you ever seen anything else other than an orange?

We suck and Jimbo made it to super bowl....

What's unfortunate about this is, since Leavitt was fired, his career has been ascending and our program has been descending. Hopefully we can get back up from our fall too!

Not entirely true.

Those are the marquee wins. Also beat Rutgers and Louisville away, something Jimbo couldn't do with his team. Oh and Miami.

CJL has had at least 2 radio interviews the last couple of days ....Yesterday with Justin on 98.7 and with the two midmorning knuckleheads on 620 today. They may have them for replay on their websites for those interested.

He certainly has fared better than USF football. As much as it hurt him to be handled the way he was, if anyone has moved on with a laugh it's probably Leavitt. I doubt he's as bitter as some on here seem intent to remain. And then Woolard, fortunate to still be employed, has pinned his hopes on the second Leavitt replacement.

At the least, his resume looks better than the first Leavitt replacement.

Leavitt +1.
