He was a very good candidate the first time around, but he's been out of the game awhile now. It wouldn't be a horrible hire, I'd actually much prefer him over Houston Nutt, but he is older now, been gone a while, and would wonder whether he's still the great recruiter he used to be. Could very well turn out to be a "O'Leary" type hire, were he's just using us a retirement ground to get 4-5 more years of coaching in while collecting a check.

I think Butch Davis is 61. Don't be surprised if Fuler sneaks back into the USF picture. He could be working behind the scenes. I, for one, wouldn't be hugely disappointed if he were the guy. I think he's one of several good candidates, although I'd still prefer Taggart or Davis over Fulmer.
