Goes to show how powerful football is. It's driving conferences/revenue, not the academics which has been our administration's biggest blunder. We keep striving to be "elite" academically to "better our situation" when all it would've taken is investing in a good football coach and then we'd have plenty of money to better the academics. Rutgers has already jumped and UConn is being talked up heavily .... For the 3,012th time, football is a very small driver in this.

"Thamel believes the Big Ten annual payout will grow to between $30 million and $35 million by 2017 (when the Big Ten will be negotiating new TV agreements) as a result of the decision to add Rutgers and Maryland..." from http://www.sportsbusinessnews.com/content/college-football-–-very-big-business Go Bulls!
