Assuming nothing happens to alter its current trajectory, I say NO . . . not by a long shot. This year, we will continue to be semi-competitive on the field and may even be able to avoid having the worst W-L record in our history. However, next year is a different story. There is the distinct possibility of going winless, which will result in several more Holtz-era firsts. I don't have to spell those out for you. Not only will we likely have our worst record ever, but we will be less competitive in our losing. Therefore, if changes are to be made, I think they need to be made as quickly as possible. Tweaking the scheme or firing a coordinator will not have much long-term impact IMO. If radical changes are made now, 2013 still looks bad, with an improving outlook in 2014. In conclusion, I predict rock bottom occurs in 2013. GB!

This whole mentality falls in line with the fans who were bringing up the idea of the Orange Bowl after Nevada. No one knows how we'll do. We're good enough to play Rutgers close. For all we know we could blow off 4-5 straight wins.

Don't know if you guys watched the last couple of weeks, but we now have losses to Temple and Ball State. If you think can somehow make a winning season out of this current fiasco...you are all insane.

I agree that they could do that. However, past performance does not indicate that such a winning streak is likely. This team has to win 3 at home with Syracuse, Conn and Pitt ands steal one on the road from UL, Cincy, Miami just to get bowl eligible. Possible, but unlikely.

As for the original poster, it could get worse. We lose to ucf next year and this place will be much much worse.

Would the worst case scenario be that we finish strong, make a bowl and then lose to UCF?

There will be no bowl game this year, again. Don't get your hopes up.

Rock bottom will be getting blown out by UCF next year, at which point Skip Holtz will be placed in protective custody if he is still our coach,

We've got a coach that has no idea what's going on. Thinks his team is playing great. IMO doesn't have the nads to fire Cosh.

This ship has just begun sinking.

seriously. Skip would only be HELPING himself by resigning now. the shiz-storm Judy, Woolard and McGillis etc have received in their inbox will be nothing compared to the complete chaos that will occur if Skip loses to UCF.
