Fulmer was my number one choice last time. Dude always had Tennessee with 10 wins a year. Good recruiter too. My second was Tubs. With his FL ties I thought he would be a good fit. Skip was way down on my list. My theory was why would we want a Coach that we destroyed in a Bowl Game. Look it up, we killed ECU in the Pizza Bowl that one year. Put up 24 points quick and then Grothe went down with an injury. We would have put up 40 on them that day with a healthy Grothe. And their offense couldn't do squat (which looks alot like ours now at times).

Wow this sounds awfully familiar like I've seen it somewhere before. hmmm.......

Charlie Strong could be a candidate at Arkansas too.

"Strong is a native of Arkansas and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas, where he played college football."

Fulmer wanted to interview last time, DW denied.

Did DW really deny Fulmer the opportunity to interview? If so it was a dumb move on DW's part. Fulmer should take USF up on age discrimination charges because his resume is glaringly better than Holtz's resume.

Kirby Smart.

Apparently he's only making $750,000 at 'bama, maybe he'd be interested.

Could we have Shaka Smart too, please, for a pair?

I doubt we have any shot at Smart. I think he turned down a couple of NFL jobs for quite a bit more money. Perhaps he is waiting for a Head Coaching job. My guess is that he is waiting for an SEC HC job.

If Tubs is Tuberville, you wouldn't take a coach we "destroyed" in a meaningless bowl game but you'd take a coach that we gave the most embarrassing home loss in Lord knows how many years to?? .... Makes no sense .... but fits in well with this thread, though

If USF goes on the search this year they will be competing with

  1. Auburn

  2. Arkansas

  3. Kentucky

So, right off the bat, we'd be the 4th choice, assuming that no other openings become available ... We need to wait for a year when there are NO other firings in the works.
