Dan McCarney. He has some ties and a realistic shot that he'd come back. He did some good stuff with our D line and can recruit Florida

he would bring Canales back though

I would be interesting to see what he has picked up under Payton

At the least I'd expect him to know good quarterbacking. They've been #1 in offense 4 outta 6 years. But just because he's on the staff didn't mean he's got the same coaching mind. Look how Weis, Crennel, McDaniels did street leaving New England. With an interview though.

You'd think he could get an elite Qb recruit. And his last name is a little more meaningful than Holtz too.

Maybe Chico can take over UNT? Besides I think I would take Canales over Fitch at this point

Fulmer was my number one choice last time. Dude always had Tennessee with 10 wins a year. Good recruiter too. My second was Tubs. With his FL ties I thought he would be a good fit. Skip was way down on my list. My theory was why would we want a Coach that we destroyed in a Bowl Game. Look it up, we killed ECU in the Pizza Bowl that one year. Put up 24 points quick and then Grothe went down with an injury. We would have put up 40 on them that day with a healthy Grothe. And their offense couldn't do squat (which looks alot like ours now at times).

Smart, animated, young (36), and a defensive genius. Has coached pretty much exclusively in the Southeast (Valdosta St, FSU, LSU, UGA, Miami Dolphins & Bama) and got his masters from FSU, so USF (coaching in Florida/southeast) might interest him.
