I mean... he wasn't the one who thought you could just plug in s new coach and...poof... next level. Seems to me that Judy and Dougie were the ones who let their ego make decisions in all of his mess. I'm sure if he did say that he was the most powerful man in the building, that rubbed them the wrong way... may have pushed them over the edge. Truth be told, he was probably correct (from an influential standpoint, obviously his job wasn't guaranteed). He was accused of hitting a player. It wasn't Judy and Doug's egos, in fact there has been mention that they tried to sweep it under the rug. I don't think either one wanted to fire him. Oh I know, and I can't fully defend him for that, but, there was a very quick "investigation" followed by a snap firing, followed by Jim getting a big settlement that his contract clearly stated that he was not entitled to if he was fired for cause. Those pieces have never added up to me and never will.

Like her botox smile or not, she is VERY well respected with the student body and in the community as well. She may not know jack about football and who should or shouldn't be coaching our team, but you can't argue with the progress that USF has made academically in recent years. We are still on the way up in that respect. I've talked to her a few times and she is always very approachable to anyone on campus. I have never got the impression that she has an ego and lets it affect her decision making. With that said, I wasn't around when the firing happened. And as for Doug, don't know the guy well enough to say he's got an inflated ego, but that's my honest opinion of Judy.

Remember, he used to say the same things Skippy says now about our opponents. I remember him even talking up the 1-AA teams. +1. Oh how soon we forget all those frustrated Octobers after strong starts. All those "what was you thinking" QB plays. Awful offensive coordinators. SMH!
