So we threw it long. We have the receivers to do it, I'm not a genius or anything but if I was a coach I'd probably be able to figure that out too. Not necessarily. You drop back in 1.5 seconds, these guys can supposedly run 40 yards in 4.5 seconds. So you just need to put some air under it for 3 seconds and let them go get it. A little more hang time and they can get down the field farther. That's all well and good, but the WR doesn't usually have any separation in 1.5 seconds, and they usually have to make some sort of move to get separation. Its not straight line speed here. Additionally, God-willing... BJ has to check on the safety and make sure he's not throwing into double coverage. If the deep ball was as easy as a speed advantage, every WR would just be a converted track star.

It appears as though some with never give CSH any credit for anything. Oh well. Do you agree Ru is our nemesis? Do you agree the know how to play us/neutralize our offense? Can you agree throwing deep on UTC and Nevada is not the same as throwing deep against RU? So why is it wrong for us to not get excited over words and taking a wait and see attitude? If we have 6-9 bomb attempts on Rutgers I'll believe it. Until then it is just words from a coach that knows how to work the media. I wasn't addressing you, you are reserving judgement. EDIT: If it doesn't work tonight, it doesn't mean that they didn't work on it during the off season, or that it's not part of the plan. You just don't get in the starting block and buzz down the field. My point was that you don't need a ton of time to throw deep. If you give a QB 3 seconds you should be able to throw it pretty deep. Yep, and I'm in agreement with you. Most WRs get their separation while the ball is already in the air.
