Out for the season with a foot sounds like a Lisfranc fracture. They are horrible.

I'm still wondering why we shifted Popek from LT. Was his backup THAT good to shift him away from the second most important position on the offense? The tackles were getting pushed back regularly against UTC. This is one experiment I'm wondering what Skip was thinking, especially with as well as the oline played last year.

From the UTC game notes,

A total of seven different players recorded at least a half sack in USF’s six-sack performance in the season opener. The Bulls are tied for the sack lead nationally with Florida State, UCLA and Northern Illinois.

This injury will impact their national title run. Not so much the game against us.

Find me a respected football analyst that agrees with this statement. A DE doesn't impact a team good enough to make a national title run. Especially when they have such quality depth at DE. What you find are articles on how this is going to be an opportunity for one of the excellent backups to get into the spotlight.

And it was, like I thought, a Lisfranc fracture.

They have the #1 JUCO DE (Tank) as well as the #1 (Mario Edwards) and even the #4 DE in the Country as back ups... they will be just fine on DE. Our O-Line better be ready, or BJ will be running every play for his life... this injury changes NOTHING!

Weren't we close to getting Tank to commit at one point?
