Unfortunate, but best of luck to him. This must mean Coach Holtz likes what he sees at TE, inclusive of depth.

I think it hurt him too that we brought in McFarland and Price, and it didn't help him either that Landi really stood out as having some of the most reliable hands on the team. He saw the writing on the wall, can't blame him. It's impossible for the chips to fall everyone's way every time.

Kid had every opporunity to crack the two-deep and couldn't. I wish him the best of luck.

His potential was killed when Leavitt left.

Leavitt would have found more creative ways to get him on the field. Skip and Fitch don't seem to like gadget plays as much.

or maybe we just have significantly better TEs

Leavitt would have found more creative ways to get him on the field. Skip and Fitch seem to prefer players that give effort and learn the playbook

Fixed it for you. :)

No. He was a two star recruit on most sites.

Virgin Will Transfer

The other bit of player news coming out of USF camp on Thursday was that tight end Isaac Virgin has decided to transfer.

Virgin has met twice with Holtz, including Thursday morning, and has expressed interest in moving down a level to play immediately this season. Virgin redshirted in 2009 and played in 19 games the past two seasons.

"I have a lot of respect for Isaac. I understand his situation and what he wants. I'll do whatever I can to help him get it," Holtz said. "I wish him nothing but success with whatever he chooses to do because he is a great young man. I hate to lose him in this program, but I understand where he is and what he's looking for right now."
