First of all, welcome to the board. Secondly, wow you went into the way-back machine. We've improved quite a bit since 1999.

I was in San Diego in 1999, and I do not remember this.... I did not follow USF then, but now I feel old....

Small crowd. About 30,000. The Aztecs were pretty good the season before that producted 7 wins. We hoped 1999 would be a real good season. I think we ended up 5-6.

I know the Aztecs won 41-12. I think it was first game of the season.

As mentioned above, I just remember sitting there and thinking of the potential of your program. And you guys haven't even got close to what you will do. Congrats.

No doubt about this.

We went backwards after that season.

I think it's really great having this love fest with SDSU, until we actually start playing each other. My intuition tells me the comments won't be as loving and civil from any point here forward. Any way, I can't wait to fly to SD to watch a CFB game. Welcome to the Big Easty.

That was the day M Blackwell took over as QB.

Blackwell did take over for Gauntt agains SDSU, though his real coming out party wasn't until the next game against SW Texas State (Glenn Gauntt started game) in the torrential downpour that USF won 17-10. I was one of only a few fans in the stands once the downpour started. Gauntt never saw the field again at QB.
