Commits to Minnesota..... Our sad excuse for a staff just lost another solid CB.

So enlighten us to his thought process ...

Never mind .... Just read the Premium article where he explains his decision and nothing there corroborates that our staff "lost" him.

Still think the old staff didn't play a role in him choosing Minnesota? All it took was a few days of Taggart in his ear and he was sold.

The possibility is always there if a recruit doesn't choose us. In the article I read back then, he gave pretty compelling reasons why he chose Minnesota. When it came to Godwin, though, Taggart's obviously a better recruiter than our old ones and Minnesota's.

Let's keep in mind that different coaches have different players as priority. For example, I would guess that Jeff Badet doesn't fit Taggart's style. While it seems that Badet is drifting away from USF, I think it is USF that is drifting away from Badet. It may be that Taggart is a better recruiter, or it also may be that the previous staff wasn't as high on Nate.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
