... what came first the chicken or the egg?

1st round picks go to D1 schools... had Joe Flacco not been good enough to play @ Pitt, he would have gone straight to Deleware or somewhere similar and never have been looked at the way he was.

Also - look @ the QB's that came out in 2008... Matt Ryan... then not a whole lot... this moved him up higher than he would have been otherwise.

I suppose a better case can be made for picking the school which sends the most OL to the NFL. However, I suspect that many of the top HS OL would also be going there, so the possibility of getting plating time, even for a very good OL, would be less than somewhere else. There is a lot to consider, other than just the conference.

The NFL also places a lot a lot of emphasis on Wunderlic and combine results. If there is talent available, they will find it no matter what conference it is in. JPP was projected in the 1st 6 rounds until he got through the combines, then he was a no. 7 pick. His conference sure didn't move him up at that point. TomGreen you are just wrong on this one, sorry.

According to @KyleBennett247, 3-star OL Cameron Fraser has flipped his commitment from USF to Louisville.

No surprise...we'll be fine.  He likely saw Fennell and Hall, and decided USF wasn't going to work for him.  Good luck...and thanks for freeing up a schollie.

Fair Enough we got Calloway they got Fraser. Senat could even play OG if we are clogged at DT. He played both ways in HS. We are still strong with Kirkland, too. Of course Rivals will downgrade him if he comes here.

He was never solid. Fennel may play DT (if grades aren't an issue).

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
