Big East watered itself down to far to raid the remnants of the ACC. Even a bare bones ACC adding what's left of the Big East would be a better move. SDSU, Temple, and Navy would never make it to the ACC. I have my doubts about SMU, Houston, and Boise as well. Georgia Tech Miami Virginia Tech Virginia Boston College Duke UNC Maryland NC State Wake Pittsburgh Syracuse Is a solid core for a conference. That leaves USF UCF Rutgers Louisville Connecticut to fill out the conference. They currently have 12, if FSU and Clemson leave. Who's to say they would even replace them? Now if the SEC or B1G came along and grabbed some more teams then maybe, but I could easily see them sticking with 12 (of course that depends on the TV deal). If FSU and Clemson leave, the ACC will get raided even more. Perhaps as many as six more teams. VT isn't sticking around if FSU and Clemson are gone. Don't know about you, but I think events that have actually happened have made it clear ESPN has it out for this conference.

And every other conference seems to re-up with ESPN without talking to anyone else. I think the BE is clearly sending a message they won't be pushovers like the ACC. So, the billion dollar question: Can ESPN kill the BE before the BE can get the big TV deal from someone else?
