Most people post these supposedlys as FACT. That's the issue.

Obviously a deal isn't done until the ink is dry and a deal is publicly announced.

I think it should be very easy to discern the difference. "A source indicates that a deal between FSU and the Big 12 is imminent" is obviously different than "FSU has announced they are going to the Big 12".

When has anyone on hear said that FSU or Clemson announced they are moving to another conference?

If you aren't interested in what is happening behind the scenes, don't read the thread.

What is supposedly happening behind the scenes ...

Yeah, there is really nothing going on. When these teams move, it's because someone wakes up in the morning and decides to move their school to another conference.

These things take months of negotiation, that should be rather obvious. It should also be rather obvious that it would be neigh impossible to keep the negotiations a complete secret.

Agree with that completely ... Point is there are very few outside of the ones actually doing the talking that know what's really being said. "Supposedly happening" is a pretty accurate description of what's being posted here.

Oh please. There is always a secretary or assistant that is eager to spread the news, either from their own happiness or because they want to feel they are a part of history. Then there is the stuff that is leaked on purpose.

When a particular person on the web consistently has news that proves accurate later, you know they are getting the info from someone in the know. This isn't difficult to figure out.

So you're saying we should take everything posted on this thread as gospel, then .... that it all comes from a source in the know.

Have I missed the links to this "particular person on the web"? Coming from a reputable source, with a proven track record for knowing things way ahead of time, would at least lend a little more credibility than just hens gossiping on a message board.

There's more than one. You'd have to have been following them for some time to know the history.

Are they premium content? Just curious as to why you, or whomever, doesn't link to them so we can all see what they're saying.

Most of the stuff I have read says NBC is about to reup with ND bigtime...and that they will have a place somehow in the Playoff system...so where is all the B12 stuff coming from? None of the ND boards are even mentioning it...just wondering.

Most of the stuff I've read says that ND doesn't have a place carved out in the playoff system, and the NBC situation is fluid.

The Big 12 and SEC is working with ND to get them a place in the playoff system if they are ranked in the top 4. Why because they want to keep ND out of the ACC, because ND in ACC and FSU staying would save the ACC as a football league.

Option 1:

With adding FSU and Clemson as 11 and 12, and adding ND as 12.5 (olympic sports, just like now in Big East) with 5 games against Big 12 football members, in which some will be showed on NBC (greater viewship for NBC thus meaning more money).

Option 2:

Adding FSU as 11, with a tag team 12. BYU (football) / ND olympic sports with 5 games with Big 12 football members

Could you image a ND schedule with 5 Big 12 opponents along with USC and others. This is why NBC would bend over backwords for them with a new contract around $25 million annually.

*As for people on the web there are some that know alot, alot of the information is coming via WVU/WV sources for multiple reasons.

1. WVU is not in Big 12 yet, and thus can recruit teams (be the people talking to Big 12 and FSU without being in Big 12)

2. Jimbo Fisher is from WV and his family is still here and closely tied to both programs. Jimbo knows he needs $$$$ to compete with Florida to will a national championship because nothing else will do in 5 years

3. Rick Trickett ^ alot of same with Fisher

4. FSU/WVU admins are very close.

5. Big 12 comments recently (Admins and ADs)

6. WVU Pres is getting pretty ballsy about ACC.

Again 90% sure FSU is in Big 12 by Aug 15th, the real question is with whom, and Louisville is not an option at this point. Clemson still makes the most sense to me right now with ND as 12.5.

Frankly, because they have been linked to in the past and all it does is cause another round of derogatory comments from the peanut gallery. I'm fairly certain there are a few links or references in this thread somewhere.

This is better than a Univision Novela.
