This has typically been BXII country, and although Mizzou left the conference, nobody seemingly changed the template at Athlon. I assume the other covers across the nation cater to the local teams. The BXII is developing the model as the place to go for unequal revenue sharing, and you might as well throw in BYU into the mix while you're at it for a good fit. Not a good model for long-term stability if you ask me (or ISU or KState), but with everyone scrambling for the last few seats on the "playoff" lifeboat, the BXII is the hot ticket right now. Check back in 5-10 years...

A source close to Notre Dame told Sporting News that the Irish likely would welcome an invitation from the ACC if the ND football team could remain independent, but to this point the ACC has preferred to remain an all-sports conference with no hybrid members. Jesus what would you call Duke and WF? Football conference members? They are about like Georgetown, except they have peewee league FB teams that play on their campuses. We're soon to find out more, including where it will be played and possibly some conference realignment ramifications. Follow @sbnation on Twitter, and Like SBNation.com on Facebook. Jul 20, 2012 - The bowl collaboration beween the SEC and the Big 12 ("the Champions Bowl") is soon to start getting fleshed out with more details here and there, other than the fact that they're still definitely calling it "the Champions Bowl." For one thing, Brett McMurphy reports requests for proposals from cities will go out next week, with Dallas and Atlanta among those expected to be most interested in hosting the playoff-infused bowl thing. I used to do requests for proposals for another job. They include 17 million pages of legalese and like three drawings of like one or two ideas, in case you were wondering what those look like. As for which specific game-hosting entities will play parts, the Cotton is waiting-and-seeing while the Chick-fil-A has appeared to be a bit more gung-ho. However, this right here might be the most important news in the whole deal, if it's accurate, as it would mean the Big 12 is absolutely expanding to 12 teams after all, and Florida State and Notre Dame rumors are right back on: David Wunderlich @ Year2 Big, if true. The BE constantly gets bashed because we have that deal in place now with ND and a few others, Yet now if they do indeed go to the BIg 12 it becomes a "great thing" So which one is it Great or does the Big 12 become another BE conference with split interest and will the media bash them like them have us over the years?
