Time to get on board the new bus, with this tweet from Greg:

gregauman Greg Auman

Just one measure, but average current Sagarin of proposed 12 Big East schools (using BYU or Temple) is better than that of current ACC 12.

Whoopie!

I still want out. No amount of Sagarin makes it a good place to be.

But we'll have more than $13M a year from TV money when a new deal is done. The ACC didn't break up their games and basically took ESPN's first offer. In another year it will become apparent how foolish they are as a conference. It's already apparent how weak they are.

The restructured Big East is a better conference than the ACC. Outside of when FSU was great, the ACC has been a fairly weak football conference. VT is usually pretty good. Miami has been on a downward slope for years. FSU is about what they've been for a decade. Clemson looked resurgent and fell on their face. The NC teams are usually mediocre at best. Virginia is mediocre at best, especially for the last decade. BC is terrible this year and usually decent. GT has been good, but far from great.

Boise State has been consistently top ten for a while now. Would be nice if WVU were staying, but SMU and Houston have good histories and can build on them in a BCS conference.

Nope. I fully expect that we'll be gone from the Big East within three years. In the meantime, we are stuck here so we might as well make the best of it. We can sit around and gripe and complain, or we can realize that the new Big East is better than CUSA, probably better than the old Big East, and maybe within spitting distance of the ACC.

I'd jump to the ACC in a heartbeat, but it isn't necessarily out of the question that the BIg East could end up being a better spot than the Big 12. There are still plenty of people that believe Texas and Oklahoma will end up in the Pac12 within a couple of years, and the SEC has already made it clear to Oklahoma that they would be welcome at any time.

I'm not going to sit around and gripe when there aren't any other better options at the moment.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
