We beat ND with the score.  They beat us otherwise based on the stats (and watching this replay).

USF got kind of lucky and dodged a bullet.  Our D did their job, which is what they do, so we made some great plays.

I just hope we figure out how to move the ball before we get into BE play.

You jumping on board with we did not deserve to win as well??

Our offense was just fine and when we needed them to score they did. From there the plan was clearly keep the clock running and lets play defense.

the reason we had never won a road opener was two pronged:

1) playing exceptional teams (for our talent level at least at the time-- or more specifically Northern Illinois)

2) we seem to need a few warm up games to get our offense running properly.

even when we open at home against scrub teams-- we take a while to work out the kinks.

I don't get the logic either. The game dictated we play a conservative, protect the ball offense. that's what we did and we did get a score when we needed it.

we didn't get lucky.

we led the entire game from start to finish. most of the time by more than a TD. they never really threatened until the 3rd and then we scored on an 80 yard TD drive. we let them make it seem much closer than it really was by scoring twice in the last 8 minutes.
