...

I just hope we figure out how to move the ball before we get into BE play.

Notre Dame's Defense may be the best we play all year.

Heh-enough about ND.

Ball State was a pretty weak non-AQ program last year. My guess is that they came out with a significant improvement on both sides this year and managed to shock a team expecting a waltz.

As far as their offense goes, they use a fairly similar set up to what we did last week. Their QB is a dual threat, having passed for 173 yards and ran for 61 last week on eight carries.

FYI-their YPA was 6.0, so expect a lot of short passes.

Eight players caught passes last week. Their top two threats are 5'10 and 6 feet, which gives us pretty favorable matches with Washington and Webster.

The best way to beat this team is to pass early and often. They got burned for 272 yards last week, most of that in

Concerns-they manhandled the Indiana defense last week. Four of their drives went over five minutes and one other drive was over three minutes.

This is a team that can keep the ball away from us if we're not committed to stopping the run. The defensive line is going to have to penetrate much more than Indiana's did and get quick three and outs, which will not come easily.

Most dangerous is their pass rush-they got four sacks last week.

This game depends on the end of the first quarter. If we have at least at least a ten point lead by then, that will put the onus on their passing game. You do not want to give this team's power running game a chance to pick up steam.

We need a LOT of practice against power running teams - we'll see them in conference play...

We play hard, we'll take care of this team easily.

They were at Home and fired up against a BCS neighbor. One that is not very good.

Indiana had pretty good numbers against them.

We are MUCH better than Indiana.

As a fan, you're allowed to think like that. If the players think like that we're toast (just ask ND)

Hey y'all new here!

A comment on Ball State, they played at a neutral site not really "at home"...

Da' Bulls need to be prepared to deal with Ball State's short passing/"up the gut" style of offense. If that is addressed, then this game should be a good win for us.

I'm pretty sure in Holtz and the Team's mind there are no other games besides 9/10/11 vs Ball St. ND is a distant memory for them. Skip has them focused.
