which incoming freshman receiver has the best hope of breaking into the 2-deep because he can get open and catch the darn ball?

Andre Davis and Ruben Gonzalez have a great chance imo. With Welch emerging as a threat along with previous starters AJ and Griffin returning if the new guys are as good as advertised our 2 deep should be fine granted if they don't RS.

Plus, Lindsey Lamar.

I'd rather see Welch out there. He's looked better.

Didn't realize that Webster was a starter on defense.

Is Andre Davis at least a 4 star recruit, since he is a 3 time all state selection for Florida?

Yes, he was a 4-star on some sites.

Lamar is a gimmick play guy. Not a true WR.

Plus, Lindsey Lamar.

He's more of a slot receiver with great speed, but he did have 5 catches in our bowl game. Llike mitchell, he was just learning to play the position. Of course, he also was the Big East special team player of the year for his returns.

I don't like Lamar at slot unless it's a WR screen... When he goes down field he has alligator arms.

I like Miller/Marc combo at slot

Don't think I've seen Shields name mentioned yet but he had a couple of nice catches yesterday and could provide a nice, big target from that TE position ...

He missed one pass which he shouldn't have, though in fairness B.J. threw it a bit high.

But he played pretty well throughout and managed to make some good catches in traffic.

I just hope he doesn't end up like Cedric Hill-hyped prior to the season, disappears during the year. Shields has the potential to be really, really good, and very dangerous. The Big East has a dearth of good TEs and USF having a good one would make us harder to prepare for week in and week out...especially with those smaller players on defense used to counter the spread.
