It is a classic thread.

Look, we did beat UM last season, but the two teams were fairly evenly matched. We blasted a freshman QB the first half while our starter sucked, then we had a freshman walk-on play reasonably well in the second half and lead the offense down the field on four drives into the red zone, one of which ended in a running back fumble.

You say that Golden is reorganizing the program and making it better. Wonderful.

You assume that we're a team with no talent, and no chances.

We have talent, and we have the staff to make it work. Look, teams win because they're good in the trenches (one of our strong points last season), and because they work hard. USF didn't win every game, but the conditioning showed down the stretch when we were still competing for a Big East title.

USF has made a commitment to be a better team, one that works hard and wins on fundamentals. The current roster is going to reflect that.

We have a strong stable of RBs. There will be a QB competition. The lines have lost quite a bit, but we've shown we can turn out defensive line talent to the NFL over the past few years. The offensive line has the right mentality as well; the running game got better as the year went on.

This team is building to compete over the long term, and we have great coaching.

Miami has a good shot at winning in Tampa next season, but it is unlikely that it will be a blowout. USF will be too well conditioned and too disciplined to be as humiliated as we were in 2009.

+1.  Only reason the UCF threads are so vitriolic is because we've pwned UCF 4 straight times.  Miami has the potential to get there too.  :D
