Holtz finished tied for second in victories among the 22 coaches in their first season at Football Bowl Subdivision programs in 2010 and was one of just five coaches to take his team to a bowl game and win.

The 8-5 record for Holtz with the Bulls was second only to Florida State's Jimbo Fisher, who guided the Seminoles to a 10-4 mark. Texas Tech's Tommy Tuberville, Notre Dame's Brian Kelly and USC's Lane Kiffin also guided their programs to eight-win seasons.

Seven of the 22 coaches took their teams to bowl games, but Holtz was among a group that included only Fisher, Tuberville, Kelly and Louisville's Charlie Strong to end the season with a bowl-game victory

No, but the media is bias.  He is getting a pass.

Holtz has his work cut out for him but I think he knows what he needs to do.
